Prof. Dambala Kutela appointed to Prestigious Global Mentoring Role
- SEF
Wits SEF Academic Tenured Faculty Mentor in the Econometric Society’s Mentoring Initiative.
The Wits School of Economics and Finance proudly congratulates Professor Dambala Kutela on his appointment as a Tenured Faculty Mentor for the Econometric Society’s Mentoring Initiative - a global programme supporting early-career economists from developing regions and institutions outside the world’s traditional academic centres.
This appointment places Prof. Kutela in the esteemed company of some of the world’s most accomplished economists, including Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo, and reflects the growing international recognition of Wits SEF’s academic leadership.
The Econometric Society Mentoring Programme provides early-career scholars, particularly those from developing countries and institutions beyond the top global universities, with a rare opportunity to refine their research through expert guidance and peer exchange.
As a Tenured Faculty Mentor, Prof. Kutela will share his academic expertise, offer critical feedback, and support the professional development of promising young economists. His selection not only affirms his scholarly contributions but also strengthens Wits University’s visibility and influence within the global economics community.
